Parents and Educators: find resources for at-home and distance learning

"The mind is not a vessel to be filled; it is a fire to be kindled." -Plutarch

In this session teachers will be introduced to Green Building, the YouthBuild Program, and Green Collar jobs, which can not only provide an opportunity for students to advance their academic career, but can have wonderful benefits for their greater communities and the environment.

This workshop was developed by YouthBuild USA, Inc. in partnership with EdTech Leaders Online at Education Development Center. YouthBuild USA leads a national network of 260 local YouthBuild programs in 46 states, Washington DC, and the Virgin Islands that help youth transform their own lives while transforming their communities. YouthBuild programs address critical issues facing low-income communities – housing, education, employment, crime prevention and leadership development. EdTech Leaders Online provides capacity building, training, and online courses for school districts, state departments of education, and colleges and universities.

Audience: This course helps instructors working with opportunity youth to incorporate Green Building principles into their curriculum by teaching them how to write project based lesson plans.
